Lifting Up the Economy

We are facing a Cost of Living crisis.

Housing costs, insurance rates, and utility bills are out of control. Everyone deserves the chance to live in the community where they work or grew up, but skyrocketing housing prices are pushing working families and young people out.

Teachers, nurses, and first responders shouldn’t have to drive an hour just to serve the community they love. Young adults should be able to afford to live where they call home.

Living paycheck to paycheck is stressful. Nobody should have to face choosing between paying rent or buying groceries, especially when people at the top keep getting richer at their expense.

We need to prioritize people over profit and keep our community livable now and for the next generation.

Jenna will propose and champion policies that:

• Offer affordable housing solutions that put homeownership within reach of everyday people—not corporate investors buying up homes and pricing out local families.

• Strengthen healthcare access and coverage. This includes accepting the federal funds for Medicaid expansion that our lawmakers leave on the table while South Carolinians remain uninsured, hospitals absorb uncompensated care, and rural healthcare systems struggle financially. It's a no brainer.

• Ensure balanced taxes with shared responsibility. Jenna's not interested in helping the ultra-rich get richer through tax cuts or incentivizing corporations who don't pay their fair share. She'd like to see you get ahead.

• Prioritize transparency in every part of life where people are asked to pay: medical care, health insurance, homeowners coverage, taxes, and utility bills. If someone is charging you money, you deserve to know exactly what you’re paying for—and they should be held accountable for it.
